What does the term “slow fashion” mean to you?
It’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately.
Working in fashion — writing about it, blogging about it and generally following it — means I’m often eyeing trends. But, while I can appreciate new fashion “moments,” I’m doing my best to invest in pieces that will last for years to come rather than one-season garments that won’t stand up (quality and style) over time.
This blanket scarf from the brand Abbott is an example of that.
The Vancouver-based brand’s creations are made thoughtfully, using alpaca (said to be one of the most sustainable luxury fabrics in the world), so that they can be worn again and again. I styled this scarf over a winter coat and warm layers, but I can also see myself using it for years to come as a travel necessity. (I always fly with a blanket scarf for warmth and easy, chic layering).
It's sure to become a well-loved and well-worn item for me.
