To me, this is more than an outfit post. It's one small step toward helping end world hunger.
Michael Kors released its annual t-shirt design for the Watch Hunger Stop campaign, which is the American brand's charity-linked initiative to end world hunger.
For the past seven years, the company has created a charitable design in order to support the United Nations World Food Programme. To date, the campaign has provided more than 18 million meals to children.
“Food is a simple, essential need, but solutions to hunger need to be thoughtful,” Michael Kors said in a news release. “We’ve supported WFP’s school meals programs over the years because they focus on making communities stronger and more self-sufficient. They also understand how important it is to provide opportunities for women and girls to break the cycle of poverty.
"We’re proud to work together with them toward zero hunger.”
This year's theme, encompasses three simple words that hold a lot of meaning. Food. Is. Love.
And that theme translates as this stylish t-shirt (a unisex design!) and tote. Through Oct. 31 (while supplies last), the full profits from the sale of each design will be donated to the WFP. Michael Kors will also donate an additional 100 meals for every selfie that's taken in the shirt or with the tote (or, better yet, with both!) shared with the hash tag #watchhungerstop.
Fashion fans can also make a donation directly at several Michael Kors stores. To learn more, visit michaelkors.ca.
