During my recent road trip through Arizona, I stopped in a place called Kingman.
Chances are, if you love gemstones, then you've heard of it.
The town is home to the largest turquoise mine in the United States. Armed with this information in advance of our trip, we knew we had to make time in the drive to check it out.
While en route to Las Vegas, we stopped at the aptly named Kingman Turquoise Mine, which happens to have its own little retail shop on site featuring loose stones for purchase of all shapes and sizes — as well as precious jewelry pieces made in-house.
Needless to say ... I left with a thing or two. :P (Side note: Contrary to what a few online reviews, I found the prices to be quite reasonable and the selection to be very nice!)
If you're ever in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in. I'm sure you'll find a few things that catch your eye.
