It's funny, my experience with horses plays such an important role in my life, and yet, it's not something I share too often on my public platforms.
Despite the prodding and encouragement of friends to share more about this side of my life online, I've always felt it was a wonderfully private part of my daily life (I ride pretty much every day) that I was happy to keep away from the world of 'likes' and 'shares'.
But, I thought, given that I posted these photos on Instagram recently as a nod to my 33rd birthday, some of you might enjoy learning a little bit about them.
The horse pictured on the left is named Peanut. He has been, to date, one of the greatest horses I've ever owned. He's 18 this year, and I've had him since he was five, so ... it's safe to say that we've got one another pretty well figured out by now.
The horse on my right, Pink, is a young mare that I bought as a two-year-old. She's headstrong and opinionated — and she's taught me so much about myself as we've progressed in our partnership.
Riding horses, an activity that I've been passionate about since I was 11 years old, is one of those things that I can't imagine living without. I guess you could call it my "soul food". Lol. Although, that sounds a bit weird. Too touchy feely. :P
In any case, it's something I'm so passionate about, and I spend a lot of my time (when I'm not working and blogging, of course!) doing.
Let me know if this is something you'd all enjoy hearing more about in the future! And thanks for letting me share it.
