What it is: An exfoliating facial sponge made of Konyaku root (a type of Japanese potato) to cleanse and soothe skin.
Can be used with or without a cleanser added, the sponge comes in charcoal, pure and turmeric. This product is cruelty free, vegan and has no preservatives.
Beauty bonus: With a handy suction cup and drying bag included, you never have to worry about your facial sponge falling on the floor of your shower.
Beauty bummer: Post-wetting, the sponge is a little on the soft side. (We promise we'll explain, keep reading!)
Overall: When we opened this sponge it was a bit intimidating. It was super hard and very abrasive looking. Were we supposed to use this on our feet or our face? (#hellopumice) We weren't sure.
But, when we got it in the shower and ran it under the water, it got very soft and slightly jelly-like!
We've talked about our mom's beautiful skin before in reviews, and one of her tricks is exfoliating (aggressively) daily with a stiff sponge. We were sort of expecting that experience.
But while this sponge wasn't rough, our skin felt unbelievably soft and clean post use.
Would recommend? Yes — for those not used to a Brillo pad exfoliation, this is a nice, soft experience.
