What: The first-ever Nordstrom Warehouse Sale x StyleDemocracy in Vancouver.
When: March 21-April 2 (11 a.m. to 9 p.m. week days and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekend)
Where: 805 Boyd Street, New Westminster
What to expect: Designer and in-store label items from previous seasons discounted at up to 80% off.
My take: This sale is worth going to if you (a) love Nordstrom (b) are looking to spend a few hours waiting to get into/shopping a sale (c) are just curious and want to brag to friends that you went to the first NWS in Vancouver.
I went during the "VIP" day on Monday and was slightly unimpressed with the selection. A few notable designer deals we spotted on the first day included: a wool Theory jacket marked down to $299, Phillip Lim flats marked down to $150, an Acne Studios leather vest marked down to $500, Acne Jeans for $99, and an Isabel Marant wool sweater for $99.
After much searching (I know, I know. It IS a warehouse sale), I left with the pair of grey Acne jeans and a Rag & Bone black wool sweater (I'm wearing both in the pic above!), while my sister scored a pair of jeans, and my mom took home an Elizabeth & James leather tote, Ted Baker bag and Theory sweater coat.
There were also the Acne Jensen boots in denim that I had been LUSTING after last season there ... but sadly, were not available in my size.
I noticed a TON of Nordstrom-branded items from Halogen, and there were several bags from Ted Baker and Kate Spade, but I OBVIOUSLY didn't go on the day other Vancouver influencers scored the AH-mazing Phillip Lim and Moschino bags. #jealous
The subsequent reveals on social have actually made me want to head back out to New West for another go-round — especially after hearing the sale merchandise is constantly updated and they do extra markdowns on the last day(s).
Sale grade: B- There are some good finds there, but you have to be willing to wait — and search through a lot of, well, not-so good stuff!
