Let me start this Makeup Monday review by saying — I'm a fan of Charlotte Tilbury's cosmetics.
Since I was first introduced to the Brit beauty guru's brand during it's arrival in Canada last year, I've been impressed with the quality of the products and the ease of application.
So, with that in mind, here's my review of the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita look.
What it is: A look, dubbed the Dolce Vita that is created using a lineup of Tilbury products including the Dolce Vita eye palette, Feline Flick eyeliner in Panther, Full Fat Lashes mascara in Glossy Black, Cheek to Chic blush in Ecstasy, Lip Cheat liner in Pillowtalk, K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Penelope Pink and Lip Lustre lipgloss in Seduction, to create a full-on bronzed bombshell allure.
Beauty bonus: While I love makeup, I've never been the best at application. But this look was surprisingly easy to recreate.
Beauty bummer: At nearly $300 for the gift set, creating this product-for-product is pricey.
Overall: As stated above, these products bend the budget — but they definitely work.
I used Tilbury's Magic Cream and Wonder Glow as a base for the look and was impressed with the way they prepped my skin.
The eyeshadow shades went on true to colour, without a base, which was a nice bonus.
While I wasn't blown away by the mascara (I prefer something a tad clumpier for more drama) I loved the lip products. By far, my favourite of the eye products was the liquid eyeliner, which thanks to a laser-thin applicator tip, made it super easy to create the perfect cat eye with.
The lip pencil is creamy and easy to apply, while the slightly weighty matte lipstick stays put for hours. Even though matte is all the rage, I even enjoyed the slick of shine provided by the lip gloss.
Would recommend? Yes! While there were a few products I could certainly live without, the gift set is a better deal — and it's kind of a nice treat to get the whole lineup in one go.
Price: $295 for the set
