I'm what you'd call a proud Canadian.
No matter where I travel to in the world, or where I might one day live, this country will always be my true "home."
So when I began brainstorming what I wanted to do for today's Canada Day post, I knew I wanted to do something special to celebrate this great country — and especially Canadian fashion.
Because, it doesn't matter if the rest of the world thinks that all Canadians walk around in fur-lined parkas in the winter and Canadian tuxedos in the summer — the truth is, we are one stylish nation.
So, rather than don the typical CANADA tee and jeans look, I decided to celebrate Canadian fashion with an outfit made of pieces sourced entirely from homegrown designers and brands (except for the Ray Ban sunglasses, of course!).
From my favourite Smythe Les Vestes blazer, to a go-to silk tank from Joe Fresh, to pieces from my sister's totally covetable jewelry line Dear You, Pretty Things (even my shape-wear is made in Canada!) — each item in this look celebrates a few of the many amazing talents that this country has to offer.
Happy 147th birthday, Canada! And thank you for being you.
