Pros: This bag is a must-have if you're looking for an envy-inducing handbag that happens to fall into the oh-so-haute bucket bag category.
The leather on this bag is smooth slightly rigid and rich looking. While I haven't taken it out too often yet, I believe it will be the kind of bag that will get better with age as the leather wears.
Cons: The sleek black exterior is a tad prone to scratches. Also, protective feet on the bottom would have been a nice touch.
Though I was correct about the scratches — the smooth leather is definitely prone to knicks and I have started to notice a bit of wear around the corners — the stiff leather hasn't sagged or softened and has allowed the bag to keep its shape!
Cons: The sleek black exterior is a tad prone to scratches. Also, protective feet on the bottom would have been a nice touch.
Overall: This bag offers a whole lot of bang for your buck! Made in Italy? Check. Wear everywhere style? Double check. An adjustable strap that can change the length from shoulder-style to cross-body with a few quick tugs? Triple check.
The Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag is a win-win type of handbag that can hold all the day's necessities — plus some.
Would recommend: YES! If you can get your hands on one of these popular bags — there are waitlists at many North American stores ... I would highly recommend it! Especially because the new seasonal colour releases will reportedly sport a $600-plus price tag ... up from the $495 of the black and beige versions. Yikes!
++++ UPDATE: +++
I've had this bag for almost a year now and have used it A LOT. I took it to Europe this year on holiday and to NYFW to cover/shoot the shows, so I had a big DSLR, notebook, and the usual purse necessities stuffed inside, and let's just say, this bag is a WORKHORSE!
