You know those brands that you love and leave ... only to fall back in love with again?

Well, one such tempestuous love affair has happened between myself and Mavi Jeans.

I remember in high school when the Turkish denim house's low-rise, flared jeans dubbed the "Serena" were the "It" style. Every girl at my school just had to have them (myself included).

But when I left high school, I also left behind my love for a dare-to-bare underwear rise on my jeans — and thus, my Mavi love affair came to an end. Until now.

I recently stopped by the company's Canadian flagship store in Vancouver to try on a few of their new styles and washes and I was seriously surprised to find myself swiftly falling back in love with the brand.

While I couldn't quite bring myself to try on the revamped Serena jeans (the memory of my high school style mishaps are still a little too fresh in my mind :P), I fell hard for these sexy boyfriend jeans called Emma.

With just the right amount of fade and a few distressed areas for good measure, they are sure to be a closet staple for me this summer — and beyond.
