Winter white out: A head-to-toe winter white skirt and sweater ensemble

I have always loved the idea of a head-to-toe winter white ensemble but have never gotten up the nerve to brave the inevitable stains -- until now. 

While helping sort through my mom's closet in a bout of tardy spring cleaning, I stumbled across this wool, made-in-Canada skirt from the early 80s. It was simple, well-cut and (praise!) fit when I tried it on. 

I knew this was the piece I needed to propel me past my initial fear of scrapes and stains -- and fulfill the vision of my very own winter-white wonderland.
