Sometimes I just think it's because I'm a little too curvy for the trend.
But there are some days that I just think, eff it, I'm just going to give it a try anyway!
I picked up these high-waisted pants during the Aritzia winter sale and I loved them. After lobbing off the hem (and leaving the ends tattered, of course!) I decided to pair them with this impossibly (and unintentionally!) tiny cropped top from Forever 21 — umm ... in case you're wondering, this top was a bit of an online shopping purchase fail.
While I loved the way the outfit looked in my room ... I knew I would have to be having a great body day to feel like I could pull it off in public. Because, if I'm being totally honest, I don't have the slimmest figure and I definitely don't have six-pack abs.
So, I resigned myself to the fact that I would only be venturing out in this ensemble during aforementioned good body day — or wind up wearing it with a fake-it-till-you-make-it type of attitude that usually accompanies a trip out of town. (Because the people you see on vacation will never see you again, right?)
I had one of those moments during my brief trip to Los Angeles earlier this week.
So, with the sun shining on an impossibly pink wall in Beverly Hills, I drummed up the courage to rock this teeny tiny cropped top and high-waist, wide-leg trousers.
And you know what? After looking at these photos I can safely say that I would try it again.
Happy Friday and thank you for stopping by.
