There are two places were I've always felt completely at ease — in the saddle (I've been riding horses since I was 11) — and at the beach.
Whether it's the open air, the sound of the waves, or just the plain and simple natural beauty, there's just something about a visit to the seaside that clears my mind — and allows me to put everything back into perspective.
I've been thinking a lot lately about the constantly comparing world that we live in.
From Instagram envy to all-around lifestyle awe, I'm no stranger to feeling jealous of other peoples' realities (real or perceived) as seen through the lens of social media.
I needed to take a minute to remind myself to keep my eye on my goals, and to never forget how lucky I am to have any level of success doing something as fun as blogging.
I'm going to try to take off my rose-coloured, Instagram-filtered shades for a while.
That's mostly what I was mulling over as I was sitting at the scenic White Rock beach, enjoying the somewhat sunny day and wearing my comfy Sanuk shoes.
Happy Monday, hope I didn't get too heavy ... and thank you, as always, for reading!
